As I read a chapter from “Falling Upward” I thought of what I might do for Lent.  Lent is not only about giving up something but giving out to others.  To open my heart and soul for something more is a challenge.

Quote from Richard Rohr, “Faith is simply to trust the real, and to trust that God is found within it-even before we change it.   This is the major stumbling stone, the price we must pay to keep the human heart from closing down and to keep the soul open for something more.

This season of Lent for me is to keep my heart in the right place and do more for others. The pledge is to provide food for those who are in need of it.  To keep my soul open to provide care and nurture for those I think of each day that I have not been together with in the past year.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.
